About Me

Hi, I’m Monica Lucy and welcome to my blog!

MonicaLucy.com is a lifestyle blog about motherhood and microadventures.

I’m a British travel blogger based in North Wales where I live with my partner, Sam, and our three children. I blog about our life in the countryside and our mini adventures.

I started blogging in 2009 as a travel blogger and I ran a blog called The Travel Hack. It all began while I was backpacking around Asia and I became hooked on travel and I barely stopped for the next 11 years! I travelled a lot….and then COVID-19 hit….and then I realised I didn’t want to be a travel blogger anymore.

So I switched things up, gave the blog a makeover and made it an adventurous lifestyle blog!

I’m lucky enough to call  blogging my full time career and I also write about creating lifestyle careers and working to live, not living to work. Sam and I have have 4-day weekends so we can travel as much as possible and enjoy time in Wales as a family.

If you like the sound of the blog, please do follow along on Instagram for daily updates.

Have you ever tried home exchanges? We’ve done quite a few and its a great way to really get to know a place. Jan

We haven’t ever done this. My partner isn’t keen on the idea of someone staying in our house and our house has always been a bit of a work in progress. Maybe in the future!

Monica, I’m so inspired by your blogs, I’ve read almost 50 in the past week and I must say you have put in a lot of effort into this blog. Loved how you portray each place and your experience of visiting it. Truly inspiring and motivating.
